Mrs + Mr Luke is the brainchild of Cape Town based creative duo Faatimah Mohamed-Luke and Al Luke. Faatimah started her creative journey in fashion as a founding partner of SA designer brand adam&eve. Her current focus is recreating the art form of tessellation in a modern way by building large-scale wall art made of locally sourced plastic building blocks. She has championed the humble children's toy to create highly patterned works that express a joyful nostalgia. Al’s artwork incorporates an expressive abstract style which aims to visually translate themes of personal and societal behaviour and connection. Al learned early on that structure and knowledge of his tools would allow him the freedom to create with confidence and allow him keep pushing his craft. Even though he has a strong background in art and design, it has never stopped his efforts to create a unique aesthetic.
